FAQ

When can I talk to you? You are always so busy, and I really need to talk to you!

First of all, you can e-mail me. Learn how to do it, it will save you a lot of time. You can e-mail from the web site. Just lick on E-mail the Teacher. Second, you can talk to me right after school. The time right after school is reserved for all students' questions. However, I have meeting on Tuesdays and sometimes on Thursdays. So it is best to do it on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. I am not always available during recess, and I need to take care of myself during lunch. But sometimes I am available. Check with me in the beginning of  recess.

What do I do if I see missing assignment in my gradebook?

There are a few things you can do:
  1. If this is a new assignment, come and talk to me.
  2. A lot of times I give you a new deadline in the gradebook to turn in your assignment. Turn it in, put it in the bow where we turn in the homework.
  3. Find it and turn it in by putting it in the box or coming to me and putting it in my hands.
If this assignment was due a month ago, there is nothing you can do. Please check your gradebook regularly and address the issues as they come up right away!

I do not have Internet at home, and you assign a lot of online homework. What do I do?

There are a few things you can do:
  • You can work in the classroom for an hour after school on all days except Tuesday if I am in school. If I am not in school, this option is not available.
  • If I am not in school, and you need to do something on the computer, you can e-mail me, and we may reschedule your deadline.
  • If you need to research, you can always go to the library, and please remember that books are great for research. When it comes to kids, books might be a better choice because there are a lot of WONDERFUL books on the subjects we are discussing in the classroom. We have a library nearby on Platt. Our school library is not available as I am writing it, but it will be available during the year.

I read, but my Mom did not sign my reading log!

I am sorry, but the reading log needs to be signed in order to count for your team points and for a good grade. Please get into the habit of signing your reading log. Any adult at home can sign it, as long as they saw you read or know that you read.

What if I get sick on the day of a test?

You will need to take the test when you come back. All the tests must be taken in the classroom. You cannot take a test at home. The testing after the day of the testing is called make up testing. It is done on your own time. It means that you will need to stay during recess or after school to take the test. If there is any other time during the day when I can give you some time to work on the test, I will, but prepare to spend some of your own time if you happen to miss the test on a scheduled day.

When are the supplies due?

The supplies are due on August 21st. Please see the calendar about all the due dates questions :)
